How the scoring works
Every ball is scored on five weighted dimensions: compression matched to your carry band (weighted heaviest), how strongly it delivers the thing you said you want most, feel, flight matched to your conditions, and budget. Compression bands follow our compression and swing speed guide, built from manufacturer figures, MyGolfSpy Ball Lab gauge testing and Today's Golfer robot data. No ball brand pays for placement, and price never earns a ball a better score.
How does the Ball Finder pick a ball?
Six questions cover your driver carry, priorities, feel preference, conditions and budget. Every ball in the database is scored on five weighted dimensions, compression fit first, and the highest score wins. The same answers always give the same result: it is fitting logic, not a lucky dip.
Is it really free? What's the catch?
The quiz, the named match and the runners-up are all free with no sign-up. Some result links are Amazon affiliate links, so Fayrway may earn a commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. The scoring itself takes no money from any ball brand.
Do I need to know my swing speed?
No. Your driver carry distance is enough, and the first question maps it to the right band. Under 200 yards of carry is roughly an 85 mph swing or less, per TrackMan's amateur averages.
