Chrome Tour or Chrome Tour X?

The standard Chrome Tour is softer with a touch more spin; the X is firmer and lower-spinning for players whose flight balloons. Most golfers in this bracket suit the standard ball.

What swing speed does the Chrome Tour need?

Like all high-compression tour balls, roughly 100 mph plus with the driver to get everything it offers.

How does it compare with the Pro V1?

It competes head-on: similar construction and price, with Callaway trading a little firmness for feel. Which wins comes down to flight preference and feel.

Callaway Chrome Tour Golf Balls

Price on Amazon

£44.99

The Chrome Tour is Callaway's flagship: a four-piece urethane tour ball with a penetrating flight, controllable spin and a noticeably softer feel than most balls in the premium bracket. For fast swingers who find the usual tour balls harsh, that softness is the differentiator.
